Vox Lumiere’s Phantom Of The Opera is set to make its New York debut this winter. The award-winning immersive and interactive show will play the Daryl Roth Theatre Off-Broadway beginning January 16, 2017.
Created, composed and directed by Kevin Saunders Hayes, the show features Vox Lumiere’s singers and dancers as they offer a unique twist on The Phantom of the Opera. The ensemble will perform a fusion of rock, pop and EDM music against a backdrop of multimedia and the 1925 silent Phantom film. It is billed as “part epic concert, part interactive movie, part cutting-edge theatre.”
The show is scheduled to officially open February 2.
“I’m thrilled to have Vox Lumiere’s Phantom as our next tenant at the DRT,” commented Tony-winning producer and theatre owner Daryl Roth in a press statement. “This exciting, immersive and unique theatre experience will continue our tradition at our beautiful theatre on Union Square.”
The Daryl Roth Theatre is located at 101 East 15th Street in New York City’s Union Square. Vox Lumiere’s Phantom Of The Opera is produced by Vox Lumiere, Kevin Saunders Hayes, Victoria Levy, Tom Smedes and Peter R. Stern.
