The season begins on September 27 at the Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Theater with a program featuring Diva, a new work with live vocals by singer Karen Akers; Twyla Tharp's classic In the Upper Room; and Jerome Robbins' In the Night.
The Nutcracker, which will be seen in artistic director Septime Webre's 2004 version, runs from December 8-23 at the Warner Theatre.
A program of Latin dance titled "ÔNoche Latina!," including Webre's Juanita y Alica, follows in late January and February at the Eisenhower. Webre's Carmina Burana, paired with a yet-to-be-announced work, will complete the mainstage season in late March and April.
In May, the company will present seven new works inspired by Shakespeare at the England Studio Theatet. Choreographers include Karole Armitage and Stephen Petronio.
The Washington Ballet Studio Company will perform a new version of The Little Prince and works by Trey McIntyre and George Balanchine at the Studio Theater in February.
