Classic Arts News Watch a Clip from the Royal Ballet’s La Bayadére Before It Hits Cinemas The performance, filmed at London’s Royal Opera House, will screen across the U.S. February 19.

Stateside Ballet lovers and novices alike can catch London's Royal Ballet without crossing the pond next month. The company’s presentation of La Bayadère will play in movie theatres around the U.S.

The ballet tells the story of Nikiya and her love for the warrior, Solor. Trouble comes from the soldier’s fiancé, the princess Gazmatti, who is enraged to hear about Nikiya’s love. What unfolds is a mystic tale of a tale of love, revenge, and nobility.

The clip above features the corps in the Kingdom of the Shades, considered one of the most iconic moments from the ballet.

The cast features Royal Ballet Principals Marianela Nuñez as Nikiya, Vadim Muntagirov as Solor, and Natalia Osipova as Gamzatti, as well as Alexander Campbell as the Bronze Idol.
