Watch Cut Musical Number From Oscar-Winning Vice | Playbill

Video Watch Cut Musical Number From Oscar-Winning Vice Andy Blankenbuehler choreographed the dancing in the scene, which features music by Nicholas Britell.

Watch a musical number that was cut from the Oscar- and Golden Globe-winning film Vice above.

In the cut scene Donald Dumsfeld (Steve Carell) explains to a young Dick Cheney (Christian Bale) how D.C. is like a big chessboard when a Congresswoman (Brittany Howard) steps in to sing about how things really work.

Three-time Tony winner Andy Blankenbuehler choreographed the dancing in the number, with music penned by Nicholas Britell.

“Adam [McKay] directed the heck out of it; it was really entertaining,” film editor Hank Corwin told The Hollywood Reporter in January. “But what we found was, in the context of the film, it weighed the film down at the wrong time. The film wanted to move quickly in that area, and it would have slowed it down. It was very painful [to cut it].”
