Film & TV News Watch Hamilton’s Christopher Jackson Perform at the Emmys The Emmy winner and Tony nominee paid tribute to the stars and creatives who recently passed with a Stevie Wonder song.

Emmy winner and Tony nominee Christopher Jackson took to the stage at the 69th Annual Emmy Awards on September 17 to pay tribute to the actors and creatives who have passed away in the last year. Watch the Hamilton star perform Stevie Wonder’s “As” as part of the In Memoriam presentation in the video above.

The 2017 Emmy Awards were hosted by Stephen Colbert and broadcast on CBS. Among the theatre actors to pick up trophies were: Elisabeth Moss, who earned a 2015 Tony nomination for The Heidi Chronicles and won her first Emmy for The Handmaid’s Tale; two-time Tony winner John Lithgow, who won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in Netflix’s original series The Crown; veteran actor Ann Dowd, who also won for her work in The Handmaid’s Tale; and Tony nominee Alec Baldwin, who won for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Saturday Night Live.

Jackson, who originated the role of George Washington in Hamilton on Broadway, is an Emmy winner himself for his work on Sesame Street. On television, he is known for his portrayal of Chunk Palmer in the CBS series Bull.
