Watch Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda Guest Star on Brooklyn Nine-Nine | Playbill

Film & TV News Watch Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda Guest Star on Brooklyn Nine-Nine Miranda, who is a longtime fan of the series, made a guest appearance on the March 7 episode.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine welcomed one of its biggest fans March 7, when Lin-Manuel Miranda appeared in a guest-starring role as Amy’s overachieving brother, David.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine writers wrote the role with Miranda in mind, playing into his award-winning "golden" streak as the creator and original star of the Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning hit Hamilton—a cultural phenomenon that has garnered nearly every eligible award since its 2015 premiere Off-Broadway.

Check out the clip above to see Miranda in action. (Things heat up later in the episode, when Miranda and Melissa Fumero—who plays Amy on the series—attempt to outdo one another in a dance-off.) Watch the latest episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine on the NBC App, Hulu, or other streaming platforms.

The Hamilton and Mary Poppins Returns star was among the A-list stars who rallied behind the Andy Samberg-led cop sitcom last spring when Fox announced it was canceling the series after five years. NBC picked up the series, which was just renewed for a seventh season.
