Directed by Leigh Silverman, Violet stars two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster as a young Southern woman who embarks on a bus trip seeking the help of a TV evangelist whom she hopes can heal a large facial scar that is the result of a tragic childhood accident. While traveling, she meets two soldiers, played by Tony nominee Joshua Henry and Colin Donnell.
The production received four Tony nominations: Best Actress, Best Featured Actor, Best Direction and Best Revival of a Musical. It opened April 20 at the American Airlines Theatre.
