Due to "technical problems," some of this week's previews of the Queen musical We Will Rock You at the Dominion have been canceled. It is hoped that Friday's performance will go ahead, but there remains a question mark over it.
Cancellations of previews are not unknown, and when a show relies on a lot of technology, there are always greater risks of gremlins in the works than for less spectacular productions. The recent example of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Palladium (which canceled its second night after the car refused to fly) is a case in point.
Queen fans shouldn't be too worried by the news, since the technical team has until May 14 (the date of the opening night) to get everything in working order.
