The Times Square Business Improvement District and the NYPD report the following scheduled weekend closings and events that may affect traffic in the theatre district.
On April 15, 6 AM - 8 PM, West 44th Street between Sixth Avenue and Broadway will be closed during crane operations.
On April 15 and/or April 16, 8 AM - 6 PM, West 42nd Street between Seventh Avenue and Eighth Avenue will have one lane open in each direction during crane operations. During the same period, West 49th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue will be closed during crane operations.
During all "closures," local and emergency traffic will be maintained.
On April 16, 10 AM - 4 PM, Broadway will be closed to traffic from 43rd Street to 45th Street while an estimated 1000 persons gather in remembrance of those died during the Armenian genocide. Theatre patrons may wish to adjust their plans accordingly.
