Jo Bonney stages the Michael Weller drama that began performances Aug. 29 and is scheduled through Oct. 12. Dan Butler, Raul Aranas, Jeremy Bobb, Lisa Joyce, Logan Marshall-Green, Eileen Rivera and Corey Stoll are featured in Beast. (Butler recently replaced Larry Pine, who withdrew from the production due to a detached retina.)

In Beast, press notes state, "a blood-red comic road adventure, two Iraqi War veterans (Logan Marshall-Green and Corey Stoll) — badly mutilated but as fiercely patriotic as ever — make their way home from a military hospital in Germany. Their marauding adventure across America takes them to Crawford, Texas, where they meet up with their Commander-in-Chief (Dan Butler) and offer a surefire solution to all his problems."

The design team includes Eugene Lee (scenic), Colleen Werthmann (costume), David Lander (lighting), David Van Tieghem (sound), Tal Yarden (video) and Nathan Johnson (make-up and effects).

Weller is also the author of Moonchildren, Fishing, Loose Ends, Spoils of War and What the Night is For as well as the films "Hair," "Ragtime" and "Lost Angels."
