The City of New York will fete the new family musical, Don Schlitz and Ken Ludwig’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, by temporarily renaming a section of W. 45 St. (at Broadway) “Tom Sawyer Way.” Expected at the 12:30 PM street sign unveiling are cast members of the Broadway musical, including Joshua Park (Tom Sawyer), Jim Poulos (Huck Finn) and Kristen Bell (Becky Thatcher).

Nearby, New York City Mayor Giuliani will be rededicating the Father Duffy Memorial at Duffy Square at 11 AM. Production sources have not received late confirmation that the Mayor will cross the street and be on hand for the Tom Sawyer ceremony at 12:30, but an appearance is still possible.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer officially opened on April 26 at the Minskoff Theatre. Tickets are available at the Minskoff Theater box office and by calling TicketMaster at (212) 307-4100. Ticket prices range from $30 to $85.
