News West End Cabaret to Close June 21; Tour Will Launch Life will soon be a cabaret no more in the West End. The hit revival of Cabaret, directed by Rufus Norris, currently represented by Les Liaisons Dangereuses on Broadway, will close on June 21 at the Lyric Theatre.

However, a national tour will roll out of the production in late August, launching at Birmingham Repertory Theatre from Aug. 28, and continuing on the road to Bristol, Liverpool, Nottingham, Manchester, Woking, Cheltenham, Bath, Leeds, Truo and Malvern. This production of Kander and Ebb's 1966 Broadway musical opened at the Lyric Theatre on Oct. 10, 2006 (following previews from Sept. 22), and currently stars Alistair McGowan as the Emcee and Amy Nuttall as Sally Bowles. Also in the cast are Angela Richards as Fraulein Schneider and Barry James as Herr Schultz.
