News West End Production of Avenue Q to Shutter Oct. 30 The West End production of Avenue Q will shutter Oct. 30 after a four-and-a-half year run.

Currently playing at Wyndham's Theatre, the musical originally opened at the Noel Coward Theatre in June 2006. A closing notice there for March 28, 2009, was subsequently rescinded, and the production merely went on a brief hiatus before resuming performances at the Gielgud Theatre June 1, 2009, where it played through March 13, 2010. It subsequently moved a third time to Wyndham's, where it began performances March 19.

In a press statement, Kate Monster commented, "We’ve had a great time, it's been a real ball, but I think we’ve all grown up and got our sights set on living in a more up-market part of town. And Trekkie Monster wants to be somewhere with a better broadband connection."
