News West End Run of Mike Bartlett's King Charles III Extends The West End run of King Charles III, Mike Bartlett's play that imagines a future when Prince Charles takes over the monarchy from his mother Queen Elizabeth, has extended its run at Wyndham's by nine weeks, and is now booking through Jan. 31, 2015. It was originally booking through Nov. 29 only.

The production, which began performances there Sept. 2 prior to an official opening Sept. 11, premiered at the Almeida Theatre. The play is directed by Rupert Goold, artistic director of the Almeida Theatre.

Tim Pigott-Smith will continue in his role as Charles.

The Almeida Theatre production of King Charles III is produced in the West End by Sonia Friedman Productions, Stuart Thompson Productions and the Almeida Theatre in association with Lee Dean & Charles Diamond and Tulchin Bartner Productions.
