Prince of Broadway, the musical retrospective that charts the life and legendary career of director-producer Harold Prince, officially opened on Broadway August 24 at Manhattan Theatre Club’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

Prince co-directs the production that features both biographical material and songs from many of the shows that earned him a record 21 Tony Awards, including the original productions of Damn Yankees, West Side Story, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Evita, Merrily We Roll Along, The Phantom of the Opera, Parade, and Kiss of the Spider Woman, as well as revivals of Show Boat and Candide.

The musical features original songs, music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations by three-time Tony winner Jason Robert Brown (Parade, The Bridges of Madison County), a book by two-time Tony nominee David Thompson (The Scottsboro Boys), and co-direction and choreography by five-time Tony winner Susan Stroman (The Producers).
The creative team for Prince of Broadway also features Tony-winning scenic and projection designer Beowulf Boritt, six-time Tony-winning costume designer William Ivey Long, two-time Tony-winning lighting designer Howell Binkley, wig designer Paul Huntley, and music director Fred Lassen. Casting is by Tara Rubin, and Jeffrey Seller is the creative consultant.
The musical, which explores the Women's Suffrage movement's victories and failures, officially opened April 18.
