The Encores! Off-Center series kicked off July 12 with a star-studded revival of Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman’s musical.

Another season of New York City Center’s Encores! Off-Center series, which brings groundbreaking Off-Broadway musicals back to life, kicked off July 12. The first production of the summer is a revival of Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman’s Assassins, directed by Anne Kauffman and featuring an all-star cast.

The limited engagement runs through July 15 at New York City Center.

Steven Pasquale stars as John Wilkes Booth, along with Tony winner Victoria Clark as Sara Jane Moore and School of Rock Tony nominee Alex Brightman as Giuseppe Zangara.

Rounding out the cast are Clifton Duncan as the Balladeer, Tony nominee Steven Boyer as John Hinkley Jr., Tony nominee John Ellison Conlee as Charles Guiteau, Tony winner Shuler Hensley as Leon Czolgosz, Ethan Lipton as the Proprietor, Erin Markey as Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme, Cory Michael Smith as Lee Harvey Oswald, and Danny Wolohan as Samuel Byck.

The Encores! Off-Center summer series will also feature revivals of Kirsten Childs’ The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin, directed by Robert O’Hara (July 26 and 27); and Maurice Sendak and Carole King’s Really Rosie, directed by Leigh Silverman (August 2–5).
