What the Night Is For begins previews at the Comedy Theatre Nov. 7.
It's already one of the hottest tickets in town, and stars "X Files" actress Gillian Anderson. The play, about a couple, both remarried, who meet for a night of sex and lies, hope and regret. One of the central questions that the play asks is whether we are with the "right" person or whether he/she is out there somewhere, living life without us.
Anderson is an international star via television and film, while co-star Roger Allam is best known as a stage actor, who won an Olivier Award earlier this year for his role in Privates on Parade at the Donmar. What The Night Is For is directed by John Caird, whose previous hits include the still-running musical Les Misérables.
