The "Ladies Night" celebrates the work of Katie Thompson. Thompson will accompany the "New Voices" — including Alison Bonelli, Kayleigh Erickson, Mara Jill Herman, Mariand Torres and Elizabeth Urbanczyk — on selections from her songbook. Show time is 7 PM.
Barbara Anselmi is the evening's musical director and will also accompany the singers on piano.
Katie Thompson has appeared in The Ark and The Forgotten Carols as well as in the readings of Giant and Piece. As a songwriter, Thompson was nominated for a Pearl Award, an Indie Award and a MAC Award. Her debut CD is titled "What I've Done Right."
The New Voices series was founded by composer Scott Alan to "showcase some of today's brightest new talent in New York." Alan's debut recording, "Dreaming Wide Awake" — which features performances by Liz Callaway, Stephanie J. Block, Eden Espinosa, Cheyenne Jackson and Jonathan Groff, among others — is available by visiting www.scottalan.net. The Duplex Cabaret Theatre is located in Manhattan at 61 Christopher Street. There is a $12 music charge and a two-drink minimum; for reservations call (212) 255-5438 or visit theduplex.com.
