The pieces are Overruled and Augustus Does His Bit, and they make up the fifth installment in Project Shaw, a new reading series focused on the playwright's oeuvre. Unlike the past four attractions, all evening affairs, this event will talk place mid-day, at noon.
The series is being produced and directed by David Staller, who recently acted with Dana Ivey in Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession at the Irish Repertory Theatre. Dates stretching throughout 2006 and beyond will provide an airing of every sketch, full-length and one-act play by the playwright.
Past participants include Rebecca Luker, Simon Jones, Michele Pawk, Jack Gilpin, Marc Kudisch and Nancy Anderson.
All casting is subject to change. All readings are on Monday at 7 PM, except where otherwise indicated. A current schedule, subject to change, runs as follows:
May 8 at noon: Two one-acts, Overruled and Augustus Does His Bit
June 19: Getting Married
July 17: John Bull's Other Island
Sept. 18: The Apple Cart
Oct. 23: Misalliance
