The New York Post reports that Jackman's concert evening will begin an eight-week run at the Broadhurst Theatre Oct. 25. The New York daily says the production delay on the upcoming "Wolverine" film has enabled Jackman to return to Broadway this fall.
Backed by an 18-piece orchestra, Tony Award winner Jackman performs a personal selection of his favorite musical numbers, including tunes from his Tony-winning turn in The Boy from Oz.
Warren Carlyle is the creative producer for Hugh Jackman in Concert, and Patrick Vaccariello serves as music supervisor and musical director. The creative team also includes lighting designer Ken Billington; scenic consultant John Lee Beatty; projection/video designer Alexander V. Nichols; and sound designer John Shivers.
Jackman, who was seen on screen in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," earned a Tony Award for his work in the Broadway musical The Boy From Oz. He is also known for his film roles in the "X-Men" trilogy, "Someone Like You," "Swordfish," "Kate and Leopold," "Van Helsing," "The Fountain" and "Happy Feet" (in voice). His stage credits also include Trevor Nunn's staging of Oklahoma! at Britian's National Theatre and award-winning work in productions of Sunset Boulevard and Beauty and the Beast in his homeland. He will also be seen in the film version of Les Miserables.
