PlayBlog Will Love Never Dies Get a New Director for Broadway? Love Never Dies, the sequel to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s evergreen hit The Phantom of the Opera, may get a new director before it heads to Broadway, according to the New York Post.

The Post reports that the London production’s director, Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien, and choreographer, Tony winner Jerry Mitchell, may depart the project to focus on their other Broadway-bound show, Catch Me If You Can; however, no official announcement about such a change has been made.

Lloyd Webber, the Post says, has reached out to Tony winner Harold Prince, who staged the London and Broadway productions of Phantom, but Prince apparently has declined in order to focus on his current London musical, Paradise Found.

Tony and Oscar nominee Rob Marshall (“Nine,” “Chicago,” Cabaret) is reportedly also a possibility to take over Love Never Dies for Broadway. Stay tuned for further developments!
