News Will Stanley Donen, Elaine May and Mike Nichols Collaborate on a New Film? Award-winning director Stanley Donen is considering directing a new film, according to Showbiz411.com.

The site reports that Donen has written a comedy script with Oscar nominee Elaine May (Relatively Speaking, "The Birdcage"). Tony and Oscar winner Mike Nichols ("The Graduate," Death of a Salesman) would produce the comedy about making a movie. Showbiz411 reports that a private reading was held featuring Tony nominee Christopher Walken (A Behanding in Spokane, James Joyce's The Dead), Charles Grodin (Unexpected Guests; Same Time, Next Year), Tony winner Ron Rifkin (Cabaret, Wrong Mountain) and Jeannie Berlin (After the Night and the Music). 

Donen, who helmed numerous Hollywood movie musicals, has not directed a feature film since 1984's "Blame it on Rio." He received an honorary Academy Award in 1998 and has also been recognized by the American Cinema Editors, American Society of Cinematographers and the Directors Guild of America.

His work includes "Damn Yankees!," "The Pajama Game," "Funny Face," "Singin' in the Rain" and "On the Town."
