Walter J. Hoffman directs the revival that plays through Oct. 31 in the Studio Theatre at Theatre Row. The Apple Core Theater Company presents the limited run.

The cast of As Is includes Jeff Auer, Emily King Brown, Jason Griffith, Brian Hopson, Jessica Luck, Todd Michael, Ryan Stadler and David Zwiers.

Here's how producers describe the Obie-winning play: "Centering on the relationship between an HIV-positive man and his ex-lover who returns to his side in his time of need, As Is portrays the confusion and fear that gripped the nation as the disease first spread. As Is is a bold, touching play that pays reverence to the resilience of those it affected with humor and compassion."

As Is was nominated for the Tony and Pulitzer Prize. The play received the Obie and Drama Desk Awards. Hoffman also adapted the play into a 1986 television film.

The production has scenic design by Nicole Egana Stadler, costume design by David Zwiers and sound design and original music by Joemca.
