News William Hoffman's As Is Will Play Limited New York Run William Hoffman's Tony Award-nominated play As Is, set during the height of the AIDS crisis in 1985, will make a New York return to commemorate the 25th anniversary of its debut.

The Apple Core Theater Company will present the limited revival Oct. 14-31 in the Studio Theatre at Theatre Row. Walter J. Hoffman will direct.

The cast of As Is will feature Jeff Auer, Emily King Brown, Jason Griffith, Brian Hopson, Jessica Luck, Todd Michael, Ryan Stadler and David Zwiers.

Here's how producers describe the Obie-winning play, "Centering on the relationship between an HIV-positive man and his ex-lover who returns to his side in his time of need, As Is portrays the confusion and fear that gripped the nation as the disease first spread. As Is is a bold, touching play that pays reverence to the resilience of those it affected with humor and compassion."

As Is was nominated for the Tony And Pulitzer Prize. The play received the Obie and Drama Desk Awards. Hoffman also adapted the play into a 1986 television film.
