Shatner's World: We Just Live In It…, which was seen earlier this year at Broadway's Music Box Theatre, will be offered Jan. 4, 2013, in Aurora, IL. Featuring Emmy Award winner Shatner, the solo show takes "audiences on a voyage through Shatner's life and career."
The company's second annual "Broadway Series" will feature the family-friendly musicals Grease, directed by Michael Unger (Sept. 12-Oct. 7 with an official opening set for Sept. 14); Annie, directed by Rachel Rockwell (Nov. 21-Dec. 30 with an official opening set for Nov. 24); The Music Man, also directed by Rockwell (Jan. 16-Feb. 3 with an official opening set for Jan. 18); and Fiddler on the Roof, directed by Corti (March 6-24 with an official opening set for March 8).
Paramount will also offer a slate of children's shows for the 2012-13 season, including Doktor Kaboom!, blending theatre arts with scientific exploration (Oct. 2); Skippyjon Jones, based on the children's books by Judy Schachner (Nov. 27); Laura Ingalls Wilder, following the adventures of Laura and her family (Feb. 5); Muntu, an evening of authentic and progressive interpretations of contemporary and ancient African and African-American dance, music and folklore (Feb. 7); Civil War, featuring traditional Civil War songs (March 12); and The Little Engine That Could Earns Her Whistle, a story that teaches children the value of optimism and hard work (April 4).
Other highlights of the season include country music sensation Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas (Aug. 26), comedian Rodney Carrington (Sept. 8), the folk-rock duo The Indigo Girls (Nov. 3), a Valentine's Day concert with Bobby Vinton (Feb. 14); the disco-era tribute show Stayin' Alive: One Night of the Bee Gees (March 30); and the theatrical event Stomp (April 13), among others.
