News Williams' Sweet Bird Unfurls Its Wings at Schreiber Studio Feb. 15 Tennessee Williams' Sweet Bird of Youth, the sultry tale of a gigolo and a faded movie star, gets a Manhattan revival at T. Schreiber Studio Feb. 15-March 18.

Respected acting teacher and director Terry Schreiber directs a cast that includes Joanna Bayless and Eric Williams, featuring Anthony Aibel, Ed Avila, Kelvin Cameron, David Donahoe, Jack Drucker, Morgan Foxworth, Margo Goodman, Andrea Jackson, Gina LaMoine, Pierre LaRochelle, Simeon Lipman, Peter Luna, Robert McCaffrey, Mary Monahan, Jack Nasi, Shelley Virginia, Aaron Walker and Tim Weinert.

Opening night is Feb. 17. Performances play at the T. Schreiber Studio's Gloria Maddox Theatre, 151 W. 26th Street, Seventh Floor.

Sweet Bird of Youth, from 1959, "tells the story of a drifter, Chance Wayne, who returns to his home town with a faded movie star, Princess Kosmonopolis, hoping she will be the source of re-uniting him with his childhood sweetheart, Heavenly Finley," according to Studio notes. "Chance has no idea that his past actions have damaged Heavenly's life or that her Mayor father has sworn out an edict on him."

The production features scenic and properties design by Hal Tiné, costume design by Karen Ledger, lighting design by Andrea Boccanfuso, sound design by Chris Rummel and fight choreography by Robert McCaffrey. Glory Sims Bowen is assistant directing and Rod Goodman provides the photography and special effects. The stage manager is Ain Rashida Sykes. Schreiber is featured in Eva Mekler's "The New Generation of Acting Teachers." He's been teaching and directing for over 30 years. On Broadway he directed the Tony-nominated play K2, The Trip Back Down starring John Cullum, and Devour the Snow. Off-Broadway, his directing credits include Desire Under the Elms at The Roundabout Theatre with Kathy Baker and Feedlot at Circle Repertory with Jeff Daniels. He has directed at regional theatres around the country including The Guthrie Theatre, Syracuse Stage, Hartman Theatre Co., Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Studio Arena Stage and George Street Playhouse.

Sweet Bird of Youth plays Thursdays at 8 PM, Fridays at 8 PM, Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.

A suggested donation of $20 is requested. Tickets can be ordered by calling (212) 352-3101.

Tickets may also be purchased in person one hour prior to the show at The Gloria Maddox Theatre.
