News Wilmington and Hartford Will Play Chess in Jan.-Feb. 2000 Chess may be eyeing a move back to Broadway, but before it can get there, a two-city Equity tour of the Tim Rice-Benny Andersson-Bjorn Ulvaeus rock opera will begin Jan. 28, 2000 in Hartford. The Connecticut dates will run at the Bushnell through Feb. 6, before the show moves on to Wilmington's Playhouse Theatre Feb. 8-13.

Chess may be eyeing a move back to Broadway, but before it can get there, a two-city Equity tour of the Tim Rice-Benny Andersson-Bjorn Ulvaeus rock opera will begin Jan. 28, 2000 in Hartford. The Connecticut dates will run at the Bushnell through Feb. 6, before the show moves on to Wilmington's Playhouse Theatre Feb. 8-13. Worth Gardner will direct. No casting is yet in place. A representative at Jeffrey Finn Productions stated that a Chess cast should be in place by Thanksgiving.

This tour will be produced with Jeffrey Finn Productions, CT's Bushnell and DE's Playhouse Theatre. The three were responsible for the 1999 spring tour of The Who's Tommy (which visited Wilmington, Hartford, Stamford, CT, Boston and Chicago) and a recent tour of the revised Company.
