News Wopat and Wintersteller Star in 42nd Street for Pittsburgh CLO July 4-16
Pittsburgh CLO's new production of 42nd Street will star Broadway's Tom Wopat as director Julian Marsh, July 4-16. He replaces his "Dukes of Hazzard" co-star John Schneider, who withdrew due to a scheduling conflict.

Performances of the Mark Bramble-Michael Stewart musical comedy about an Allentown girl who replaces a star on Broadway (all the while singing classic Al Dubin-Harry Warren songs) will play Pittsburgh's Benedum Center.

This marks Wopat's CLO debut, reprising his Broadway revival role. He was Tony-nominated for playing Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun, and starred in the recent Broadway production of Glengarry Glen Ross.

The 42nd Street cast also includes Alessa Neeck (as Peggy Sawyer), Ian Knauer (Billy Lawlor), Lynne Wintersteller (as Dorothy Brock), Susan Cella (as Maggie Jones), Scott P. Sambuco (as Andy & Bert), Nina Fluke (as Anytime Annie), George Dvorsky (as Pat Denning), Paul Palmer (as Abner Dillon), Jeff Howell (as Mac, Thug & Doctor).

Charles Repole directs. Craig Barna is musical director. Michael Lichtefeld is choreographer. The 1980 show, based on the 1933 Warner Bros. motion picture, had original direction and choreography by Gower Champion.
