The work, which began previews May 22 at Second Stage's uptown home, the McGinn/Cazale Theatre on Broadway at 76th Street, was originally scheduled through June 16.

Directed by Tony Award nominee Thomas Kail (In the Heights, Lombardi, Magic/Bird), The Tutors features Louis Ozawa Changchien (Second Stage's Warrior Class and Year Zero) as Kwan, Matt Dellapina (Roundabout's The Dream Of The Burning Boy) as Jow, Aubrey Dollar ("Guiding Light," Completeness at Playwrights Horizons) as Heidi, Keith Nobbs (Lombardi, The Lion in the Winter) as Toby and Chris Perfetti (Picnic, Off-Broadway's Sons of the Prophet) as Milo.

Here's how Second Stage bills the new work: "No one dreams of being a tutor: just ask Heidi, Toby and Joe. While catering to the offspring of New York elite has forced them to confront the anticlimax of adulthood, these roommates are not ready to give up on their social networking startup – just yet. When Heidi’s online editing begins to invade her subconscious and a student crosses the line, all three friends might be in over their heads. A funny, heartfelt look at day jobs versus dream jobs and the people we count on to remind us of the difference."

The Tutors features scenic design by Rachel Hauck, costume design by Jessica Jahn, lighting design by Betsy Adams, sound design by Jill DuBoff and fight direction by Thomas Schall.

Created as a program to help develop and provide exposure for the voices of a new generation of theatre artists, the Second Stage Theatre Uptown Series (Christopher Burney, curator and associate artistic director) seeks to "develop the skills of emerging playwrights, to provide early-career artists with the support of a major artistic institution, and to create new plays for the American Theatre. Each show has a limited rehearsal period, as well as a streamlined budget." The McGinn/Cazale Theatre is located at Broadway and 76th Street, 3rd floor.
