Performances continue through Dec. 15. A second extended engagement will play the same venue beginning Jan. 17, 2014, and will run through Feb. 2.

Written and directed by Mark Hooker, The Miss Longview Texas Drag Pageant features Robert Agis ("Law and Order"), David M. Farrington (Baptized), Daniel Keith (Rambler), Mary McNulty (God of Carnage), Chris Rivera (Hedwig and The Angry Inch), Max Henry Schloner (The Shape of Things), Nathan Shapiro (The Pillowman), Scott Silvestro (Raft of Medusa) and Ali Wetzel (Women of Manhattan). Janice Orlandi is co-director.

Here's how the production is billed: "A gay Thanksgiving gathering at the Longview East Texas Victorian home of former drag performer, Dinky and his partner Renny replete with pinecone turkeys and apple martinis anticipates an evening Drag Contest at the local high school to be judged by none other than hometown boy and film star, Matthew McConaughey. The gathering is complicated by the unwelcome arrival of a saucy high school teacher and her sexually ambiguous former husband (the town sheriff) who expose secrets and deceptions of invited guests. Further mayhem ensues when an escaped convict takes the group hostage, and a mysterious light from the sky conjures thoughts of unwelcome alien guests, forcing everyone to ask the question, 'are we alone in the universe'?"

Hooker, whose writing credits include What Liza Saw, is the artistic director and creator of Brazen Theatre, a not-for-profit LGBT theatre in Minneapolis, MN. His directing credits include Doubt and Naked Boys Singing, and his stage credits include Angels in America, Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum. On television he has appeared in "All My Children," "One Life to Live," "As The World Turns," "The Guiding Light" and "Another World" and "Loving."
