Bill Rauch directs a new adaptation by Alison Carey of the turn-of-the-20th century tale about the passing of a treasured country estate out of the hands of the feckless Madame Ranevskaya and her brother, hapless Ghayev—and, with it, the seeming passing of a long-standing way of life, replete with leisure and tradition, but also social and political inequality. Lisa Harrow is the flighty Ranevskaya. Patrick Garner is Ghayev. Ruben Garfias plays Lopakhin, the serf's son who is now poised to buy the estate. Also in the cast are Alec Beard (Yasha), James Chen (ensemble), Carson Elrod (Yepikhodov), Tom Golden (ensemble), Gustave Johnson (Simeonov-Pishchik), Bridget Jones (Dunyasha), Daniel John Kelley (ensemble), Laura Odeh (Anya), Jesse J. Perez (Trofimov), Sarayu Rao (Varya),Brenda Thomas (Charlotta) and Peter Van Wagner (Firs).

The Cherry Orchard will play through Oct. 29. It features choreography by Peter Pucci, scenic design by Christopher Acebo, costume design by Shigeru Yaji, lighting design by Michael Chybowski, and sound design by Andrew Nagel.
