You're Welcome America, which featured former "Saturday Night Live" star Will Ferrell as a comical version of the 43rd President of the United States, was viewed by 2.3 million viewers, according to thrfeed.com. The 7 PM broadcast drew the largest audience for an HBO comedy special in five years. Not since 2004's "Chris Rock: Never Scared" has the cable network enjoyed such high ratings for a comedy show.
Rebroadcasts are scheduled for March 17 at 8 PM on HBO2, March 19 at 9:30 PM on HBO, March 20 at 4:40 AM on HBO, March 21 at 10 PM on HBO Comedy, March 24 at 2:20 AM on HBO, March 26 at 12 AM on HBO, March 28 at 12:35 AM on HBO, March 31 at 3:10 AM on HBO2 and March 31 at 10:30 PM on HBO.
Marty Callner directed the TV broadcast; Adam McKay directed the Broadway run, which ended March 15.
You're Welcome America also features Michael Delaney as Dr. Scott Blumeth, Patrick Ferrell as a Secret Service Operative, Pia Glenn as Condoleezza Rice and Adam Mucci as the Pilot.
