Zanna, Don't!, a pop musical fairy tale about Zanna, a fashionably hip transvestite matchmaker with superpowers, will be heard in readings Feb. 11-13 in New York City.

Amas Musical Theatre's Six O'Clock Musical Theatre Lab, in association with Jack Dalgleish (associate producer of Shakespeare's R&J) and Stephanie Joel, are presenting the staged reading of the new rock musical, which has book, music and lyrics by Tim Acito. The 6 PM public presentations are in the John Houseman Studio Theatre, 450 W. 42nd Street.

Zanna, Don't! is directed by Becky Timms. The cast includes Caesar Samayoa, Matthew Morrison, Colin Hanlon, Shayna Steele, Jennifer Gambatese, Izetta Fang, Robert Orosco and Hoon Lee.

The Amas Six O'Clock Musical Theatre Lab is a development series for writers, lyricists and composers to mount staged readings of their new musicals. Previous shows have included 4 Guys Named Jose and Una Mujer Named Maria, and Stormy Weather: The Story of Lena Horne.
