Quinto (The Glass Menagerie, "Star Trek") will portray a mechanic/dealer specializing in European cars who makes a mistake when he slaps another couple's "horribly misbehaving child." Cox (Rock 'n' Roll, "Nuremberg") will play the patriarch of the family.

Peter Sarsgaard (Three Sisters, Uncle Vanya) and Mary-Louise Parker (Proof, The Snow Geese, "Weeds") also star in the drama that is based on a 2011 Australian series in which the slap in question exposes family secrets that questions the core of American values as all involved are pulled into the incident.

Jon Robin Baitz (Other Desert Cities, "Brothers and Sisters") will write the series. Lisa Cholodenko is tapped to direct the first two episodes.
