The Shotgun Productions presentation will perform through Aug. 29 at the Schaeberle Studio Theater at Pace University. Stewart M. Schulman directs.
Set in a hip New York eatery, The Chaos Theories follows simultaneous storylines involving a homeless woman and her imaginary lover, a stalker and a movie star, a female stockbroker and a client, a father and his daughter’s boyfriend, a playwright and a blind date couple and their alter-egos.
"The Chaos Theories asks the question: Is there an underlying order in all the chaos?," states Shotgun’s co-artistic director Linda S. Nelson. "Given this moment in our history, this dark comedy forces us to reflect on whether we are fully aware and accept responsibility for the consequences of our random actions?"
The cast includes Julian Gamble (the upcoming Democracy), Ted Koch (Death of a Salesman) and Matt Rauch (Book of Days) as well as Todd Alan Crain, Traci Godfrey, Amanda Mantovani, Maryann Towne and Pamela Sabaugh.
The design team includes Tema Levine(set), Jeffrey Dine (lighting) and Wade Laboissoniere (costume). Shotgun Productions also presenting another Dinelaris play, Big Kids earlier this year at the Pantheon Theater. The Chaos Theories previously played in New York, the work has since become full-length with new characters added.
