LOS ANGELES--Singing Wood is presented by the Makatachi Theatre Company of Italy, which is having its United States premiere. The group uses a Zen approach to "listen" common objects into movement. The Japanese-inspired performance group is run by actor/director Dominique De Fazio, and uses movement, music and objects to create different effects and explore philosophical questions. It's all done without words.
The show runs at the Japan America Theater, 244 S. San Pedro St., downtown Los Angeles. 8 PM Saturday, June 13, and 2 PM Sunday, June 14. Tickets are $25 and $28. Call (213) 680-3700.
