West End regular Matt Rawle (Miss Saigon, Martin Guerre and Evita) will lead the cast in the title role, while dancer Adam Cooper stars opposite Rawle in the role of Ramon. Aimie Atkinson, who won the BBC's Voice of Musical Theatre Award in 2006, makes her major musical debut as Luisa. The show features a score by the Grammy-winning Latin popular group The Gipsy Kings and includes new compositions and past hits such as "Bambeleo," "Baila Me" and "Djobi Djoba."

According to the announcement, the show's 30-strong cast includes leading West End and Flamenco performers and "extraordinary aerial acrobatics, spectacular sword-fighting and incredible magic."

The creative team is led by director Christopher Renshaw (The King and I and We Will Rock You) and includes Spanish choreographer and flamenco dancer Rafael Amargo, book and lyric writer Stephen Clark (Martin Guerre, The Far Pavilions), RSC associate designer Tom Piper, and co-composer and musical arranger John Cameron (Les Miz).

Allende's 2005 bestseller, "Zorro: A Novel," is the tale of the origins of the Zorro legend and reveals Diego de la Vega as the man behind the mask.

Renshaw's production, which is produced by Allende, tours the U.K. prior to a planned West End opening, dates and venue for which have yet to be announced.
