In recent years, the annual awards have been hosted by Tony winners Hugh Jackman and Neil Patrick Harris, but perhaps it's time to bring some new people to the stage of Radio City.
Corden made a big splash in recent months with his performance of the Baker in the film adaptation of Into the Woods and his new gig as host of CBS' "The Late Late Show," so here's why he should make Radio City his next stop.
*
1. He doesn't have to travel very far… He already works for CBS.
2. He's currently proving himself a witty and comical host on "The Late Late Show" (who also raps! … Closing number at the Tonys?)
3. He's a Tony winner for One Man, Two Guvnors
4. He has great interaction with the audience, evidenced by his hilarious sandwich gag in One Man
5. Maybe he can get his Into the Woods Witch Meryl Streep to sing with him on the show
6. He obviously loves musical theatre…
7. Maybe he'll record his limo ride there to Radio City (kind of like this…)
8. He's cute as a button!
9. Maybe he can preview the Pseudolus we never got to see…
10. If he's good enough for Sondheim, he's good enough for us!
