Dee Hoty, already a two-time Tony Award nominee for Best Actress in a Musical, has been nominated again, for her role as the preacher's wife in the musical, Footloose.

Hoty was previously nominated for The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public and The Will Rogers Follies. In Footloose, she plays Vi Moore, wife of the preacher who wants dancing outlawed in the small town of Bomont. Hoty gets to sing "Learning to Be Silent" and "Can You Find It in Your Heart?," songs newly-written for the stage version of the 1984 film hit.

Hoty performed in national tours of Barnum with Stacy Keach and The Will Rogers Follies, and appeared in Broadway's City of Angels, Me and My Girl and Big River.

In summer 1998, she appeared as Phyllis in a hailed revival of Stephen Sondheim's Follies at the Paper Mill Playhouse. That performance is preserved on CD.

Hoty is no stranger to regional theatre: She's worked at the Goodspeed Opera House, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Cleveland Play House, Ford's Theatre and elsewhere.
