News 2010 Humana Festival Will Present Dillman's Family Drama, Ground The 34th Annual Humana Festival of New American Plays will add family and cultural politics to its mix with Ground, by Lisa Dillman, which will run March 2-28 at Actors Theatre of Louisville.

Ground will feature Dale Rivera, Jen Engstrom, Liza Fenandez, Sandra Delgado, Rob Riley and Ricardo Gutierrez.

The play is set at the United States-Mexican border as Zelda inherits her father's pecan farm and must decide its future. As her community is changing, Zelda confronts her own standards of what her home, larger society and basic rights mean to her.

Dillman will be making her Humana Festival debut. Her other plays include Detail of a Larger Work, Flung, Half of Plenty and The Walls.

The play will be directed by Marc Masterson. Its creative team will include scenic designer Scott Bradley, costume designer Lorraine Venberg, lighting designer Brian J. Lilienthal, sound designer Matt Callahan, properties designer Doc Manning and hair and make-up designer Heather Fleming.

The other five full-length plays in the Festival include Sirens by Deborah Zoe Laufer (Feb. 21-March 28), Fissures (lost and found) by Steve Epp, Cory Hinkle, Dominic Orlando, Dominique Serrand, Deborah Stein and Victoria Stewart (Feb. 26-March 28), Phoenix by Scott Organ (March 5-27), The Method Gun by Kirk Lynn (March 16-28) and The Cherry Sisters Revisited by Dan O'Brien (March 18-April 11).
