Performances of the limited-run drama about a sick musicologist (Fonda) struggling to understand the passion of Beethoven is playing the Eugene O'Neill Theatre (230 West 49th Street). Playwright Kaufman (The Laramie Project, Gross Indecency) directs his play.
"Jane has had a scheduling conflict on her calendar for several months," said Binder, "but despite many efforts to work around her schedule, we all agreed today that it is best to close on Thursday, May 21st."

Working with her in Moisés Kaufman's new play has been an incredible thrill for us all and she is a remarkable and dedicated actress. On top of that, she is a true star whose return to Broadway after 47 years has been one of the happiest experiences for all of us: the producers, the creative team, cast and crew of 33 Variations, and the thousands of people who came to see her. We have been very proud to have been part of this historic event, and we look forward to welcoming Jane back to Broadway very soon."
In addition to the performance n added on Monday, May 18 at 8 PM, the remainder of the final week includes: Tuesday, May 19 at 7 PM, Wednesday, May 20 at 2 PM and 8 PM, Thursday, May 21 at 8 PM.
