News   8 Million Protagonists, Inspired by the Streets of New York, Will Premiere at Off-Broadway's 9th Space

8 Million Protagonists, described as a "crowd-sourced theatre play" with its plot driven by online submissions to NewYorkWritesItself.com that capture the uncensored streets of New York, will premiere Nov. 1 at Off-Broadway's 9th Space Theatre.

Produced by Leo Burnett New York in partnership with the Village Voice and LB Entertainment, 8 Million Protagonists, according to press notes, "takes you through one day in New York City as lived by the people of New York. Along the journey you'll meet a variety of weird and wonderful characters that make New York so special. From the nervous newcomers to the hardened natives, you're bound to recognize the city as you know it, presented in a way you've never before experienced it. Because when it comes to New York, you can't make this shit up." Written by Caitlin Gallo from the submissions of everyday New Yorkers, the limited engagement, directed by Stephen Bishop Seely, will continue through Nov. 10.

Michael Canning and Kieran Antill are co-creators of NewYorkWritesItself.com and 8 Million Protagonists, which will feature choreography by Jimmy Burgio.

The 9th Space Theatre is located at 150 1st Avenue. For more information and tickets, visit VillageVoice.com/8MP.
