News A Cross-Dressing Simon Callow and Anthony Burgess To Cavort in Brits Off Broadway 59E59 Theaters will present the tenth season of the Brits Off Broadway festival, offering New York premieres of the best of new British theatre. The event will feature British stage and screen stars BAFTA nominee Simon Callow ("Four Weddings and a Funeral") and Edward Petherbridge (BBC's "A Dorothy L. Sayers Mystery").

Performances will run April 14-June 28.

April 14 - May 3
The Taylor of Iverness by Matthew Zajac
Directed by Ben Harrison, with Matthew Zajac and Aidan O'Rourke (musician)
A multi-award-winning play is based on the true story of a son’s search for his father. In 20th century Europe, boy who grows up on a farm in Galicia (Eastern Poland, now Western Ukraine) comes to be a tailor in northern Scotland. "A story of deception, identity and survival."

April 28 - May 31
Britannia Waves the Rules by Gareth Farr
Directed by Nick Bagnall, with Roger Evans, Dan Parr, Michael Peavoy and Francesca Zoutewelle.
An exploration of one man's attempt escape and win over all his battles, from the grim reality of his family situation to life in the army. When Carl Jackson returns a changed man rather than a hero, he may have to finally stop running. "Fast, furious and filled with rage, this play is a scream of protest at the state of the world."

May 5 - May 31
Anthony Burgess' One Hand Clapping
Adapted and directed by Lucia Cox
With Eve Burley, Oliver Devoti and Adam Urey
Adapted from Burgess' 1961 novel of the same name, this darkly comic story follows Howard Shirley's sinister turn following a trip around the world made possible with winnings from a TV quiz show. May 14 - June 7

Directed by Simon Stokes, with Simon Callow and Connor Mitchell
Simon Callow stars as Pauline: daughter, caregiver and cross-dresser.

My Perfect Mind created by Told By An Idiot, written by Kathryn Hunter, Paul Hunter and Edward Petherbridge
Directed by Kathryn Hunter, with Paul Hunter and Edward Petherbridge
Edward Petherbridge draws on his real-life experience of suffering from a stroke whilst in rehearsals to play King Lear, celebrating the resilience of the human mind.
