As previously reported by Playbill.com, the drama set in a Bronx Catholic school in the 1960s will begin previews at the Walter Kerr Theatre March 9 toward a March 31 opening.
The cast and creative team of the acclaimed Manhattan Theatre Club Off-Broadway staging repeat their duties for the commercial run. The MTC production is directed by Doug Hughes and will again star Cherry Jones as Sister Aloysius and Brían F. O'Byrne as Father Flynn, with Heather Goldenhersh as Sister James and Adriane Lenox as Mrs. Muller.
This is the first time a work by the prolific Shanley (Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, "Moonstruck") will be seen on Broadway.
"Set against the backdrop of a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, Doubt is the story of a strong-minded woman faced with a difficult decision. Should she voice concerns about one of her male colleagues…even if she's not entirely certain of the truth?"
The performance schedule is Tuesday through Saturday at 8 PM, with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2 PM, and Sunday at 3 PM.
Tickets are now on sale, and are available by calling Telecharge.com at (212) 239-6200. The Walter Kerr box office will open Feb. 21.
