Directed by Nancy Robillard, Thomas H. Diggs' play will officially open Oct. 1. Casting will be announced shortly.
Fairie Tale, according to press notes, "is a coming-of-age story about Dulcie, a 13-year-old girl, who fakes photographs of fairies in order to save her relationship with her mother, which has been torn apart by the First World War. With the help of Francis, an eccentric male friend, Dulcie manages to create a series of photographs that not only cheer up her mother, but also entertain a nation. Dulcie's celebrity around the faked photos goes too far as her life becomes unbearable watching her mother go 'round the bend.' Dulcie decides to stop all talk of fairies, betray her eccentric cohort, and give up her celebrity status in order to preserve what's left of her family."
The design team comprises Diana Whitten (sets), Jessica Jahn (costume) and Chris Conti (lighting). On the Leesh Productions is presenting the play.
Show times are Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 PM and Sunday at 2 PM. Tickets, priced $18 and $10 (students and seniors), are available by calling (212) 352-3101.
The Michael Weller Theatre is located in Manhattan at 311 West 43rd Street on the sixth floor.
