Classic Arts News ABT Spring Gala to Feature Julio Bocca and Ruth Ann Swenson American Ballet Theatre's spring gala at the Metropolitan Opera House will feature a performance by principal dancer Julio Bocca of Jos_ Limon's solo Chanconne and an appearance by soprano Ruth Ann Swenson, ABT announced.
The event takes place on May 22 at 6:30 p.m. It kicks off the company's spring season at the Met, which runs through July 15.

Bocca, a 20-year veteran of the company, will retire at the end of the season.

Swenson, a frequent Met soloist, will perform a work written for the occasion. The program will also include excerpts from works on the season schedule, including Jerome Robbins Other Dancers, le Corsaire, Manon, Apollo, Swan Lake, and Sylvia.

Dancers scheduled to appear include Julye Kent, Angel Corella, Gillian Murphy, Marcelo Gomes, Jose Manuel Carreê±o, Xiomara Reyes, Herman Cornejo, Diana Vishneva, Paloma Herrera, Carlos Acosta, Irina Dvorovenko, Maxim Beloserkovsky, Michele Wiles, and David Hallberg.

Tickets for the entire evening, including a gala dinner, are $1,500-$2,000, and are available by calling 212-477-3030 x3239. Tickets for the performance only are $26-$135, and are available through the Met box office or by calling 212-362-6000.
