News   Actors' Fund Alerts Members About Hurricane Katrina Relief In light of the recent devastation from Hurricane Katrina, The Actors' Fund of America has circulated a letter to its members guiding them about emergency support that is available.

In his letter, Actors' Fund executive director Joe Benincasa writes, "Recognizing that many of our colleagues have been deeply affected by the effects of Hurricane Katrina, The Actors' Fund has been working with the guilds and unions to make sure we get the word out about where people can turn for emergency assistance. Our website (www.actorsfund.org) as well as those of Actors' Equity, SAG, AGMA and AFTRA, are providing contact information to get help. . . . Professionals in the entertainment industry in need of assistance should call The Actors' Fund at (800) 221-7303, say where they are calling from, and ask to have an intake worker paged. Those who get voicemail should dial extension 119."
