While the composer was hesitant to specifically name his next musical due to "legal reasons," he did say it would have a "fairy tale" nature and would involve "a lot of swordfighting."
Should the venture come to fruition, it would be Guettel’s third full musical, after Floyd Collins and Piazza. He also wrote the song cycle Saturn Returns.
Guettel also commented that he thought the term "operatic" a fair one to apply to his score, and that he hoped Piazza would be produced by opera companies in the future.
