Adam Lambert's "GMA" Appearance Cancelled; "Early Show" Steps In

PlayBlog   Adam Lambert's "GMA" Appearance Cancelled; "Early Show" Steps In

In a swift reaction to Adam Lambert's controversial American Music Awards performance on Sunday, ABC, which aired the broadcast, cancelled the singer's Wednesday concert on its flagship morning program "Good Morning America."  In a statement, ABC spokesperson said, "Given his controversial American Music Awards performance, we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning."

In the cut-throat booking wars of morning TV, it was only a matter of time before a "GMA" competitor stepped into the breach. Indeed, minutes after ABC announced the cancellation, CBS' "The Early Show" snatched up the "American Idol" runner up and will air the singer's mini-concert on Wednesday.

The former musical theatre performer, who shot to stardom on the Fox reality singing competition, released his debut album "For Your Entertainment" on Nov. 23.
