PlayBlog Adam Rapp Co-Produces and Pens Episodes of "In Treatment" This Season Playwright Adam Rapp will write several episodes for the third season of the HBO series "In Treatment," which began airing Oct. 25.

The episodes will focus on Sunil (Irrfan Khan), a recently widowed immigrant from Calcutta who is having difficulty adjusting to life in America with his son and daughter-in-law. He is a patient of shrink Paul Weston (Tony Award nominee Gabriel Byrne).

Paris Barclay will direct the Sunil episodes. Rapp (The Metal Children, Red Light Winter, the upcoming Ghosts in the Cottonwoods) will also co-produce the season with playwrights Sarah Treem (The Feminine Ending) and Eric Overmyer (On the Verge, Native Speech, "The Wire"). Treem and actor-writer Dan Futterman (of Broadway's Angels in America, screenwriter of "Capote") will also write episodes this season.

Other actors featured in the season will include Tony nominee Amy Ryan as Paul's new therapist, Adele, Oscar nominee Debra Winger as Frances, a washed-up actress who becomes another patient of Paul's, and Off-Broadway actor Dane De Hann as Jesse, a gay teen who also goes into therapy with Paul.
